African Family Safari Experiences Are One To Remember

African safari tour

If you have children who know and love the animated classic, the Lion King, then a well-planned African family safari will no doubt be an adventure that the children will look forward to with eagerness. While there are many African safari tour guides who will not allow children under a certain age to join a safari, there are others who welcome the whole family warmly and will endeavor to provide special services to accommodate the entire group.

Some of the family-friendly services that are offered by African safari tour companies are baby-sitting, special menus to appeal to the kids, and specially trained guides for the family. Some family safaris will even make arrangements to have special children's activities, such as a bush treasure hunt, African-inspired crafts like bead-making, or bedtime stories told by authentic African storytellers.

Parents who might be concerned about exposing their children to malaria can choose to take a family safari to one of the malaria-free game reserves that are located in South Africa. Another splendid option is to embark on a self-drive African safari through the countries of Namibia or South Africa. In those areas, the roads are in excellent condition and the family can travel at a stress-free pace.

One of the challenges that parents might encounter during a safari is convincing a youngster, who loves to cuddle up with his favorite stuffed lion at home, that the mother lion preening her cubs cannot be petted or even approached. This can be one of the more difficult things to get across, especially for children who have never been on wildlife safaris.

Even with the challenges that are bound to come up, a safari for families is not only possible, but also great fun. As long as family wildlife safaris are undertaken safely and are conducted under the watchful supervision of an experienced safari guide, who knows how to handle and cater to the children in the group, they can be an experience that will provide lifelong memories.

Many parents who have never considered taking African safari holidays with their children in tow might be surprised to learn that family safaris are one of the most popular types of vacations for children, from the ages of four to eighteen. There are many African safari tour operators, African tourist bureaus, and adventuresome parents who have successfully undertaken various Africa safaris with their children and claim that is was the experience of a lifetime for the entire family.

If parents take their time in selecting the destination for a family safari carefully, and also take care in selecting a safari guide or African safari tour operator, then the chances are great that you and your children will have a wonderful holiday. One of the best ways to make sure you have the right safari travel company is to ask other parents who have gone on similar trips for their recommendations, so you can plan your trip with confidence.

Buckingham Palace And London, England, Vacations

England is wonderful and exciting nation to visit for a vacation. England has an awesome selection of visitor attractions well worth a visit which cater for all tastes. For instance|One such place is the historic city of York which is known to have been inhabited since the days of the Roman Empire, Torquay (which is widely known as the English Riviera) and Liverpool (which won the title of European City of Culture in 2008). Possibly the most famous place to spend some time is London the capital city of Britain

London is an astounding destination to visit, maybe for just a weekend or, maybe for a longer period. You may be surprised at the number of folk residing in the U. K. who have never visited London, even more surprising when you consider the fact it is commonly top of the majority of visitors lists (of places they enjoyed most).

There are so many things to do and see in London that it is simply not possible to recall them all all in one go. Surprisingly one of the newest attractions in London also happens to be one of the most popular - The London Eye. Another popular attraction nearby to the London Eye is the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. However, one place which must not be missed is Buckingham Palace.

Buckingham Palace is England's most well known Royal residence, as it is home to the Queen of England. Buckingham Palace is is placed in the center of London which makes it an important focus for tourists. The daily pageant of 'Changing of the Guard' is exhilarating to see and quintessentially English.

Buckingham Palace was originally named Buckingham House. It was originally a large townhouse, built in 1703 for the Duke of Buckingham. It is actually the townhouse that forms the main core of the palace as we are familiar with today.

Over the following 75 years Buckingham House was extended with the construction of three wings forming a central courtyard. The main architects responsible for these additions were John Nash and Edward Blore. John Nash was also responsible for the interior design of the monumental staterooms.

The famous architect Aston Webb was responsible for the construction of the principal facade of Buckingham Palace which, in 1912, he re-designed. Webb in association with Sir Thomas Brock (the sculptor) were the winners of a competition to design a memorial to Queen Victoria. This memorial still exists today.

The Queen has many other royal residences other than Buckingham Palace. Each and every year the Queen spends the Christmas season at Sandringham House in Norfolk. Sandringham House is one of the Queen's private royal residences.

Another private residence is Balmoral Castle, situated in Royal Aberdeenshire, Scotland. The Queen was in Balmoral Castle when she was told of the heartbreaking demise of Diana, Princess of Wales.

If you would like to take a vacation in the U.K. then you might be pleased to discover that it is possible to find cheap hotels in London without any great difficulty, on the other hand you may wish to stay in more luxurious surroundings and the small number of boutique hotels in London should more than satisfy.

Torquay Hotels

If you're looking for somewhere to stay in Torquay you have a wide variety of hotels, guest houses and B&B's to select from. But beware if you're thinking about visiting this seaside town in the peak summer season then it's best to choose and book your place to stay well ahead of time. Because of it's pleasant all year round climate, Torquay is a town that attracts visitors of all ages right the way through the year and especially in summer.

During this article, we'll take a look at just some of the kinds of accommodation that you can choose from when you decide to stay in Torquay. Along with the many hotels, guest houses and bed & breakfasts there are also self catering and other places to stay as well.

If you don't want to stay in the relatively busy town center then it's worth thinking about booking your place in a quiet farmhouse. There are many farms who to help make ends meet are now letting out rooms to people visiting the Torquay area.

As you'd expect, the accommodation is good quality and they are value for money as well. On top of that, if you've got children in your party what could be of more interest than letting them have the opportunity to interact with animals. It will definitely give them plenty to speak about when they go back to school after their summer holiday.

Another cheap way of spending time in Torquay is to stay at one of the many camping and caravan parks, which are located close to the town. They are almost always friendly places and certainly your children will soon be making new friends whilst you're relaxing. You have the choice of either staying at ones which are right next to the coastline or ones that are situated a bit inland.

The caravans and mobile homes on these sites that you can rent offer you some of the luxuries you would expect at home. They have showers (and sometimes a bath), along with a kitchen and a TV, plus they are extremely spacious compared to a hotel room. On average, depending on the exact unit you choose to rent you're looking at around £300 per week in high season.

That said, if you want to be in the very heart of the town and so within easy reach of all its facilities then booking a hotel, guest house or bed and breakfast for your vacation. There are plenty of them to choose from and they all offer good quality lodging. Certainly, if your budget is fairly tight then choosing a guest house or bed & breakfast will be cheaper than choosing a hotel.

When it comes to where to stay in Torquay check this list of Torquay hotels. You'll be pleasantly surprised at the enormous choice of places to stay that you can select from. However, as mentioned previously it is important that you book your accommodation well ahead of your trip especially if you're planning to visit Torquay in the height of the UK's sometimes sunny summer season.

Beginners Guide to Vacation Packing

Packing for vacation scares many people. Packing for your vacation is such a drag :you just want to be whisked away direct to your destination: no packing involved! Not very likely, so read on for my best tips instead.

Vacation Packing Tip#1; If you "might" need it don't take it.
If you are taking something "just in case" or because you "might need it" - leave the item at home. I have travelled for far too many years, and never recal actually using any of those "just in case" packed items.

Vacation Packing Tip#2 Put all your Must Have Items on the Bed
Consider them carefully. Then select the half that is most important to pack :put the rest back in the cupboard: you may have the right amount of stuff. If you have problems with this approach put all your "essentials" in a bag and go for a 30 minute walk: see the point now?

Vacation Packing Tip#3 Don't take specialist clothing
Don't take any item of clothing that won't do duel use. If you need a sleep shirt take something that you can sleep in and either use as a beach cover up or as a silky evening top. I have had tankini's with tops that doubled as a an evening top (bra included too nice!).

Vacation Packing Tip#4 Don't take Denim
Denim is never the answer. Its bulky, its hard to clean, it takes forever to dry and it has a certain reputation which will still get you turned away from clubs if you are wearing denim. Leave it at home

Vacation Packing Tip#5 Don't take the Medicine Cabinet
Take a bare minimum of drugs with you. Almost anything can be bought anywhere these days, don't take a month's supply of cold tablets if you are only going away for a week. Pack your prescription medicines, though you may find the generic equivalent for a lot less than at home.

History of Medan Indonesia

Medan Sumatera Utara

Medan City

Kota Medan is the 3rd biggest city in Indonesia. Located in North Sumatra ( Sumatera Utara ) of Indonesia with a population of 2.5 millions residents. It is said that during day time, the population of Medan City will grow to about 4 millions with people coming from suburbs.

The unique thing about Medan is that, it resides the largest volcanic lake in world known as Lake Toba which is twice the size of it neighboring country of Singapore.

History of Medan Indonesia

Medan started as a village called Kampung Medan (Medan Village). Kampung Medan was founded by Guru Patimpus around the 1590s. Because Medan Village sits on Tanah Deli (Land of Deli), Kampung Medan is also referred as Medan-Deli. The original location of Kampung Medan is an area where the Deli River meets Babura River.

Based on the diary of the Portuguese merchant in early 16th century, it stated that the name of Medan was actually derived from Medina which is actually a holy city in the western of Saudi Arabia. But, other sources indicated that the name of Medan actually came from Indian language “Meiden”. One of the Karo-Indonesia dictionary written by Darwin Prinst SH published in 2002 wrote that Medan could also be defined as “recover” or “be better”.

The first population of Medan came from the Batak Karo community. It was not until the Sultan of Aceh, Sultan Iskandar Muda, sent his warlord, Gocah Pahlawan Laksamana Khoja Bintan, to be the Sultanate of Aceh’s representative in Tanah Deli, that the Sultanate of Deli started to grow. This growth stimulated growth in both the population and culture of Kota Medan. In the second year reign of Sultan Deli (between 1669-1698), there was a cavalry battle in Medan.

Medan did not experience any huge development until the 1860s, when the Dutch colonialists began clearing the land for tobacco plantations. Medan quickly became a center of government and business activity, dominating development of Indonesia’s western region.

The Dutch governed Tanah Deli from 1658, after Sultan Ismail, ruler of the Kingdom of Siak Sri Indrapura, yielded some of his once-ruled land, Deli, Langkat, and Serdang. In 1915 Medan officially became the capital of North Sumatra Province, and officially a city in 1918.

With the largest volcanic lake in the world, The Legend of Lake Toba , Medan is a city worth visiting for your travel vacations in Asia Indonesia

Making Money With Your Timeshare

According to more and more people have started making money through vacation timeshares by selling the same to prospects. Buying a time share is the best luxury for those who can not buy an exclusive vacation home for themselves. Here's a really good reason you should know what status your points carry: You want to be able to trade with another unit - when and where you want to vacation. You don't want to have to go to the developer and purchase additional points at a higher fee. Timeshare is the territory of each resort across the world.

If you think about buying a timeshare to buy and then 'flip' you may want to rethink your plan. As a matter-of-fact, many timeshare sellers receive only around 50 to 75 per cent of the original timeshare value on sale. Many people find resale options better because of the exchange opportunity and also low cost compared to direct purchase.

The companies promote tour packages by arranging for short presentations and end hoping people to sign for their timeshare scheme. Many owners of timeshares don't prefer to place their timeshares up for an auction or an open bidding because they fear that they would loss too much money on their shares in such dealings. also points out that the concept of a timeshare is that more than one person, owns it at a time and uses it for a specified week every year.

Tips For Selling Timeshare:

Many times potential buyers of a timeshare unit want to know what the return on investment is. This is the wrong question to ask. Why is that? Becuase, how often does one ask what the return on investment is of a family vacation. Make sense? Do not, and I repeat, do not, purchase a timeshare with a return on investment in mind. For many timeshare owners if they look at timeshare ownership as a 'make money' proposition, then they could be disappointed. The idea behind selling timeshare is obviously to make money more than the actual price involved in buying it. For those who want to benefit from selling their timeshares, few tips are as follows:

1.A great thing about many timeshare companies is they are available across the world. Hence, timeshare buyers or owners may enjoy timeshare services anywhere, due to the point exchange programs. Some people consider a timeshare simply as a vacation condo. There are sellers, who try to sell timeshares for more the price than its actual value. They end with the compulsion for lowering the price. At times, timeshare packages are also available for water sports enthusiasts. Based on the market and the company, sellers may sell timeshares 20-30 per cent what the resort sells. Know the right time to part with your timeshare may give you a nice return on your initial investment.

2.    Choose proper company: Of the many timeshare companies, some are fraud. Do proper research on companies before advertising the timeshare. Check for companies, which offer to sell timeshares within specified time. Most companies claim for charge less than $50 for a particular ad. This is false. There is a plethora of timeshare resale companies which can help you to sell your timeshare in the event you don't use it or are ready to move on to other vacation alternatives. Before buying a timeshare from any real estate agent, buyers need to study the real estate market. Otherwise, there are chances for the buyer to fall in a trap. For instance, if the timeshare were surrounded by legal hassles, it would be difficult for the buyer to sell it later.

3.    Get proper exposure: Select a company, which exposes the timeshare to prospective buyers. This is because it has to be brought to the notice of people willing to buy. Be aware of frauds that claim high exposure in the market. Do this by searching for keywords related to timeshares in Google. Go through the rankings of the company on particular keywords to get a clear-cut picture of its influence in the timeshare sale market.

If you are in the timeshare market you may have asked yourself, "What Timeshare info do I need to know and what do I need to know about selling or purchasing a timeshare?"  Be sure to visit Thomas Sondheim's musings about Timeshares over at his blog.  Thomas Sondheim had many questions about Timeshare ownership several years ago when he became associated with the Timeshares industry.  It wasn't until Thomas realized the great benefits of Timeshares, that he became a fan of this unique real estate vacation opportunity. Enjoying London On The London Eye

The city of London, as well as being the capital of the country, has a large number of England's most popular visitor attractions. For generations London has been a popular vacation destination and much of this interest is due to the immensity of the historical buildings and the unique culture. While many of the visitor attractions found in London have a historic interest, such as the Houses of Parliament, The Tower of London and Buckingham Palace, there are many that are only recent additions, such as the London Aquarium, and the youngest of these is the London Eye.

Many still refer to the London Eye as the Millennium Wheel, the reason being that it was built to commemorate then end of the old millenium and celebrate the new. It was officially opened by the British Prime Minister, Tony Blair, in the evening of December 31 but, sadly, there were technical issues and it was not opened to the public until March 2000. Standing 135m above London it has become an unmistakable, and highly visible, landmark.

In 1895, in Earl's Court, was the Great Wheel of London, a giant Ferris Wheel which could carry around 1,600 people at a time. Unfortunately it was demolished in 1907 but today London has a replacement in the London Eye. Although it is not the largest Ferris wheel in the world it can legitimately claim to be the worlds largest cantilever observation tower!

Although the London Eye cannot carry as many people as the Great Wheel of London could it can manage to carry 25 people in each of its 32 capsules. In contrast to a Ferris wheel it is possible to get up and walk around in a pod but you may find that you want to sit down as it takes about half an hour for it to complete a full revolution.

Around 3.5 million people take a flight on the London Eye each year making it the most popular paid visitor attraction in London and the UK. The most common reason for taking a trip is to experience one of the finest views across London. Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Hampton Court Palace and St Paul's are just a few of the many London landmarks you will see on your trip. One of the best views is of the Houses of Parliament which are so close that it would appear that they are just below.

The London Eye has proved to be a popular spot for marriage proposals and weddings and they now offer special wedding packages. When booking a flight it is also possible to book other things such as educational trips for small groups of students of all ages.

If you are planning a vacation to London or just a weekend break it is well worth taking the opportunity to take a ride on this incredible visitor attraction. If your time in London is limited it is a real time saver as you are able to take in nearly all of the most important London landmarks during the 30 minute trip which is impossible to do any other way (excluding a helicopter or balloon ride).

If you are looking for accommodation in London you may appreciate the listings of hotels near the London Eye or the cheap London hotels listed on
